I have a Multi-function HDD Docking Station, model 892u2IS. It doesn't require a driver with all the generic OS's up to WIndows 7, and has been reported solid with 8 and 10 as well. I'm trying to find a driver or application that I can use it with my Ubuntu 16.04LTS. The closest I've gotten, unfortunately, is at:
http://www.onsite-computers.co.uk/al...n-drivers.html
which has the cd contents for multiple different models, including mine. It is, of course, a windows executable; hence not good for me. I would prefer to not buy a new dock, but I don't have any experience in writing drivers myself. Frankly, beyond basic scripts, I'm fairly useless. If anyone has any advice on how I can make this setup work, I'd appreciate it. I have a stack of hard drives that are waiting on me to get this working.
At the moment, the computer can recognize that the dock is attached, and that there are disks there. It even mounts them in ubuntu-vg. The drives themselves, however, it classifies as block devices and says it doesn't have an application to open them.

Per the StarTech website, no drivers are needed for this device, which I guessed anyway. The blue power light switches from blue/red to blue indicating that the drive is functioning and is seen by the docking station so I can't think of what else might be happening, unless the docking station has just gone bad for some reason.
